Spring has finally arrived! We all know how long winter can drag out in Utah—by mid-February, it seems like the stinky, gray, smoggy, pesky, suffocating inversion will never clear. Luckily, April brings a new kind of air, one that is clean, fresh, and marks the beginning of a season of sunshine. The sun is a powerful element in that it gives us a sense of happiness and overall well-being. With this being said, go out and play in it! Disconnect and simply take a walk. Feel the warm rays on your cheeks (your sunscreen-coated face of course!). Toss or kick a ball around in the park, rollerblade, walk the dog, invite a group of friends to play volleyball, throw a Frisbee, or take a hike in the gorgeous Rockies that surround us. Let the sun lift your emotional spirit and inspire your physical body to move. Winter is over so there is no excuse to stay on the couch. Happy spring and happy exercising!
So this blog was clearly written before the snow! Biking may not be as enjoyable in these conditions. Even snow shouldn't stop you from doing active things. I have become a fan of yoga and I find that it helps me relax. I have also started cooking my own food instead of buying pre cooked dinners. This way I know exactly what goes into each meal. So I encourage you to find creative ways to do healthy even when its snowy outside.
